Enforcement of Seasonal Restrictions REINSTATED: February 13

Enforcement of Seasonal Restrictions REINSTATED: February 13

Beginning February 13 at 6 a.m., the following local agencies REINSTATE ENFORCEMENT of Seasonal Weight and Speed Restrictions until further notice:

Kent County Road Commission (KCRC), Allegan County Road Commission, Barry County Road Commission, Ionia County Road Commission, Muskegon County Road Commission, City of Kentwood, and the City of Walker

Local agencies had temporarily suspended the enforcement of seasonal weight and speed restrictions based on decreasing temperatures and frost levels.

Conditions now deem it necessary to reinstate the enforcement of seasonal restrictions. The intent of the restrictions is to protect the integrity of the road when frost is coming out of the ground. Normal legal loads must be reduced by approximately 35% and truck vehicle speeds reduced to 35 mph.

Those with truck-related questions may contact the Michigan Center for Truck Safety at 1-800-MTA- 4MTA (1-800-682-4682).
